Welcome to Literacy Plus

Who we are

Literacy Plus (Renfrew County Community Upgrading Program, or RCCUP) helps people read and write and do arithmetic better. We also have small classes for adults wanting to improve their skills using a computer. We help adults reach their own goals which may include:

  • becoming better readers and writers
  • improving their arithmetic skills
  • finding a job
  • going on to further education

What we do

Students come to Literacy Plus for many reasons. They may want help learning to:

  • read to their children
  • look up a phone number
  • read the newspaper
  • read a driver's manual
  • write letters or fill out forms
  • write a résumé
  • get a job
  • measure ingredients for a recipe
  • count change or figure out the taxes on a purchase
  • plan a household budget
  • learn to use a computer

Do you want to improve your reading, writing, and arithmetic skills? Do you want to upgrade your job skills? Help is available at Literacy Plus. It is free and confidential.
