Programs

One-to-One Tutoring

Students in the one-to-one program:

  • work on their own needs and goals
  • work individually with trained tutors
  • meet once a week at a time and place convenient for both tutor and student
  • work on reading, writing and/or math skills
  • may use computers in their learning activities

Computer-Assisted Literacy

Five students at a time meet with a computer teacher or tutor to learn computer basics while they are working on reading, writing and math skills.

Workshops

Literacy Plus also offers workshops on special topics such as:

  • goal setting
  • problem solving
  • time management
  • self esteem
  • assertiveness
  • using office equipment
  • customer service
  • other job readiness skills
